On Saturday, November 11, the II National Congress of Autonomous Sports was held at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao, organized by CUFADE (Confederation of Unions of Spanish Autonomous Sports Federations). It was attended by a delegation of the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia with presidents, presidents and representatives of different federations.
Throughout the day, relevant and topical issues affecting regional sport were discussed in the areas of sports management, with interesting presentations on sponsorship, taxation, sports insurance, inclusion and event organization; communication and new trends with presentations on food, artificial intelligence and sustainability, among others; and technical advances in sports with presentations on team management, qualifications, sports medicine, women’s sport and elite sport.
The congress included presentations by Javier Clemente (former national soccer coach), Pepu Hernández (former national basketball coach) and Almudena Cid (former artistic gymnast). The UFEC’s Green Team project, which aims to promote sustainable, ecological and inclusive sporting events, was also presented.
CUFADE has the vocation to contribute to the improvement and growth of sport throughout the State through the supra-autonomic coordination of the unions of regional federations and willingness to participate as an interlocutor with the State Administration. Its purpose is the promotion and organization of activities within the framework of sport, for recreational, educational or social purposes.
