📍 On June 12, the Lia Manoliu National Sports Complex in Bucharest, Romania, hosted the in-person training event of the PLAYSOCIAL project, bringing together 20 participants from Romania, selected from over 40 applicants who had completed the online training phase in May.
In addition, more than 60 representatives of national sports federations, coaches, sports managers, and other stakeholders also took part in the event.
🎯 The main goal of PLAYSOCIAL is to train coaches, community leaders, and representatives of sports institutions in using sport as a tool for active social inclusion.
👥 The event featured keynote contributions from:
▪️ Jorge Pina – BeActive Ambassador and former Paralympic athlete
▪️ Ivo Quendera – National paracanoe coach
▪️ Prashant Kunar – Invited by the event organisers to share his views on sustainability in the sports sector
▪️ Daniel Monteiro – Sports management specialist
🌱 The event was also an opportunity to present the GreenTeam project, a complementary initiative to PLAYSOCIAL, which focuses on the sustainability of sports events.
Participants learned about the importance of organising environmentally conscious events, and the GreenTeam e-learning platform was highlighted as a highly effective tool to promote sustainability not only from an environmental perspective, but also through economic and social lenses.
